Hillwoods School Gandhinagar Hosts a Memorable Annual Sports Day 2024
Gandhinagar, December 21, 2024 – Hillwoods School celebrated its Annual Sports Day with great enthusiasm and grandeur. The event, graced by Chief Guest Dr. Manish Bansal, IAS, began with his ceremonial arrival. Adding to the significance of the occasion, the School Director Mr. Aditya Dixit, and Mr. R. M. Singh, Vice Chairman of Hillwoods Academy of Higher Education were also present to witness the event. After the hoisting of the School flag, students of Classes VIII to XII presented an impressive march past, showcasing discipline and precision. Dr. Manish Bansal declared the sports meet open. The ceremony began with an oath-taking session, emphasizing the spirit of sportsmanship, followed by the presentation of the Annual School Report, which highlighted the achievements and milestones of the year. A highlight of the day was the captivating drill display, where students demonstrated creativity and coordination. The Pre-Primary section delighted the audience with a vibrant pom-pom dance, while Class IV performed a colorful umbrella drill. Other acts included a Zumba routine by Class V, the "Follow the Leader" dance by Class I, and karate demonstrations by Classes VI and VII. Hula hoop drills, yoga formations, and a dynamic fusion dance blending Garba and Bhangra added to the spectacle, leaving the audience in awe. The track and field events commenced with a variety of races and challenges, featuring the athletic abilities of students across all grades. Events included three-legged races, skipping competitions, 100-meter sprints, and the much-anticipated 400-meter relay races for senior students. The parents’ race added a lively and inclusive touch to the meet. The closing ceremony was marked by the release of the school souvenir, a proud moment celebrating the institution’s legacy. Dr. Manish Bansal, in his address, praised the students for their dedication and efforts, emphasizing the importance of sports in holistic education. The School Director, Mr. Aditya Dixit, applauded the participants for their outstanding performances. Prizes were distributed to the winners, fostering a sense of achievement and encouragement among the participants. The day concluded with a vote of thanks, the national anthem, and the Chief Guest formally declaring the meet closed. The event came to an end, leaving behind cherished memories of sportsmanship, teamwork, and celebration.
